One Really Sassy Gurl...

I really love Koreanovelas. Ever since the F4 debut here in the Philippines, many Filipinos got hooked up in asian novelas and fanbases started to appear like mushrooms coming out of nowhere. I remembered when I first got hooked up into one of their deadly traps, hehehe. Ever since i started watching the korean series, Full House, i really got a sense on how addictive Korean films really are.

One Korean actress caught my attention, as she really is a charm and lovely in the screen. Jeon-ji hyun, famous for her role in 'My Sassy Girl', is my favorite Korean star. She really is an enjoyable girl to watch, for she really has this 'not-your-average girl' charisma. She also has this cute face which really engulfs you into watching her movies and tv series, hehehe...

Jeon Ji-hyun, a south Korean actress was born on October 30 1981 and works both as an actress and a model for various popular brands like Giordano and KFC, she is really known for her very outstanding performance in the movie 'My Sassy Girl'

She was raised in Seoul Korea and graduated in the Dep't of Theater and Film in the University of Dongguk. She didn't became an actress at the start, but instead pursued his starting career as a model in 1997, she then appeared in some TV sitcoms in korea and was later given a movie debut in the form of 'White Valentine(1999), followed by Il Mare, one of my most favorite movie of all time hehehe... Then perfectly succeeded by here biggest breakthrough, My Sassy Girl in 2001. She also starred in similar love-genre movie the following years in Windstruck, which achieved a majoy success by ranking as the 8th-highest grossing film (Korean) in 2004. He starred in Daisy in 2006.

Since her modelling career for Echo, Jeon also was taken by other companies until she branched out to mobile phones and cosmetics like Giordano, Laneige, and Samsung Anycall. She is proudly the first Korean artist to be featured on the cover page of ELLE in 2005 (a really great achievement, indeed.

I just can't wait for her portrayal of Saya Otonashi in the live-action version of Blood:The Last Vampire which was filmed in China and Argentina in March 2007. It is slated to be realesed in March 2009. (Blood and Jeon fans unite! hehehe)

Here are some of her best movies:

Il Mare (My Favorite!) is a story about two protagonists which live in a different time, but were able to communicate through a mysterious mail box. The movie is filled with intense moments and very clever twists which I wont spoil for you hehehe... All I can say is that its a great movie to watch over and over again. An american remade was later released by Warner Brothers starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullok in 2006 and was named as The Lake House and has also quite the same plot as the Philippine version "Moments of Love" which was starred by Dingdong Dantes and Iza Calzado.

Sassy Girl is a movie which best explains the saying that "We could sometimes meet a stranger that would completely change our lives." This is a story about a man who met a drunk girl in a train station which lead into him taking responsibility of the girl out of guilt and their funny relationship which is filled with twist and turns. It's a romantic - comedy love story that is really fun to watch and Jeon really did justice in portraying her role as memorable as possible =)

Windstruck is quite fantasy-based love story and could be comparable to the American movie 'Ghost' which portrays two lovers sharing their final gestures of intimacy before the other moves in the afterlife. A really good and sad movie at the same time, featuring nice soundtracks from classic Japanese bands like X-Japan which really did a good job in their song entitled 'Tears' It played on a part of the movie where Jeon's dead lover tried to establish a connection with her in the form of wind... the element the her lover wants to be, when he was still alive... the scene really gave me goosebumps as Jeon expressed tender emotions of loneliness and her desire to feel her lover's presence again.
